She is an investigative reporter for The New York Times and the author of Invisible Child, published by Random House, which has won the 2022 Pulitzer Prize in General Nonfiction. She is also the recipient of the J. Anthony Lukas Book Prize, a George Polk award, an Overseas Press Club award and was awarded a 2007 Pulitzer Prize for feature writing. In 2015, Andrea was awarded Columbia University’s Medal for Excellence, given to one alumnus under the age of 45. She has also received honorary doctorates from Occidental College and from Niagara University, which cited her “courage, perseverance, and a commitment to fairness for those without a public voice rarely demonstrated among writers today.” Andrea came to The Times from The Miami Herald, where she covered crime, immigration and Latin American politics. Kristina Johnson, PhD (President @The Ohio State University) Kristina M. Johnson is many things: a trailblazer in the classroom, the boardroom and the research lab; a dedicated public servant who served at the highest levels of government; and a role model and advocate for women in STEM. Most of all, Dr. Johnson is an innovator and an inventor, a leader who is constantly seeking new solutions to the most seemingly intractable challenges. These qualities enabled Dr. Johnson to successfully lead The Ohio State University at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, immediately after becoming the school’s 16th president in August 2020. Her experience and her determination to preserve the campus experience led the university to establish robust COVID-19 testing and public health protocols that made it possible for professors and students to have in-person classes — and for student-athletes to compete in a variety of sports. JOHNSON'S BIO: https://president.osu.edu/about-president-johnson Melissa Gilliam, MD, MPH (Executive Vice President & Provost, Office of Academic Affairs @The Ohio State University) As Ohio State’s executive vice president and provost, Dr. Melissa L. Gilliam is the chief academic officer of one of the largest and most comprehensive universities in the country. She leads an academic enterprise that includes 15 colleges, more than 7,500 faculty members and more than 67,000 students on campuses in Columbus, Lima, Mansfield, Marion, Newark and Wooster. A scholar, physician, educator, and academic leader, Dr. Gilliam joined Ohio State from the University of Chicago, where she was vice provost, the Ellen H. Block Distinguished Service Professor of Health Justice, and professor of obstetrics and gynecology and pediatrics. At the University of Chicago, Dr. Gilliam has focused on academic excellence, supporting faculty at all stages of their careers, and issues involving diversity and inclusion. TO READ MORE OF DR.
