Given the wide ranging challenges from COVID-19 school closures and interruptions to in-person learning, there is a need to explore how COVID-19 has impacted student mental health needs and school mental health service delivery. This presentation will report findings from a statewide needs assessment administered in February 2021 to school mental health professionals. We will share how COVID-19 has impacted student mental health and substance abuse as well as changes in service delivery. We will conclude with best practice recommendations on how to use a preventative and systematic comprehensive Student Assistance Program to address student mental health needs.
