Homelessness and the Housing Crisis: Caring for Those Who are Left Behind
This course will explore how homelessness and the housing crisis are exploding in Ohio and across the nation. The program will look at:
-Historical factors that contributed to homelessness
-Characteristics of people who experience homelessness
-Why people become homeless
-The role of systemic racism
-How to respond effectively with people who experience homelessness
-How to get involved to reduce homelessness, both individually and collectively.

Important notes regarding CEUs and Attendance:
•Each participant must submit an individual registration to receive CEUs. Please do not share your unique Zoom webinar link.
•CEUs will be awarded to attendees that participate in the full webinar, which will be automatically recorded by Zoom upon your arrival to and departure from the webinar. Partial credit will not be awarded, with no exceptions. Be sure to plan ahead so that you are logged into the webinar on time.
•CEUs will be reported to CE Broker within 30 days for those who provide their license numbers upon registration or when completing the post-course evaluation.

Keith McCormish, MPA
Director @Columbus Coalition for the Homeless
Keith McCormish serves as Director of the Columbus Coalition for the Homeless, which provides education, advocacy, and empowerment programs related to homelessness. He has been a social worker, administrator, and consultant in the social service field for many years. His experience as a social worker includes crisis counseling and case management in the mental health and recovery field and working with youth and families involved with the justice system. As an administrator he helped develop new programs and services for many organizations, primarily in mental health, recovery, housing, and healthcare. Keith formed a consulting firm in 2000 and helped organizations in central Ohio develop new programs and funding streams. He also helped several large nonprofits achieve CARF certification. He is currently the Board Chair for the Continuum of Care in Franklin County, which awards federal funding for homeless programs. He has a Bachelor’s degree in English from the Ohio State University a
