This training will introduce participants to Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidence-based treatment developed for young children (2-7 years) with behavioral and emotional disorders. PCIT teaches behavioral parent training skills and interventions that seek to improve the quality of the parent-child relationship and change negative parent-child interaction patterns. In this training, participants will be introduced to PCIT’s theoretical underpinnings, clinical model, and core interventions. Didactic instruction, video, and clinical demonstration will be used to demonstrate some of the basic skills used in PCIT.
