In the last two decades, we have seen a sharp rise globally in industry funded research in medicine, food science, and technology. We also know that industry funding can bias research in myriad ways, even when the research conducted is methodologically rigorous and researchers are transparent about their funding sources and conflicts of interest. This panel will discuss what individual researchers and the research community can and should do to mitigate against potential bias and to maximize the social value of their research.
