What about the video?
Joni Tornwall
21:46
Video (use of your camera) can be used with any meeting, Inga. Is that what you were asking?
Liz Sharpe
22:12
So why would we want to say Video off?
Joni Tornwall
23:54
I suppose you might not want people to use their video camera in a meeting, Liz. That does not happen very often, but in very large meetings or gatherings where you don’t want to see your attendees, I think you might choose to turn it off. You can *also* begin the meeting with video off for everyone, just as this meeting began, but people can then turn their video on. If you read through the options John is demo-ing, they should make pretty good sense.
Joni Tornwall
24:10
If not, please feel free to check with us.
Liz Sharpe
24:36
Ok thanks!
Inga
25:49
Thnak you!
Gerene Bauldoff
27:32
How do you change the name of the meeting? I see the invitation URL is still that jumble of numbers?
morgan.1364
28:35
Where is the link that I share with the meeting attendees when scheduling on behalf of someone?
Joni Tornwall
29:17
Gerene, that’s a good question. You can customize your personal mtg room link, but I don’t think you can customize others unless you use go.osu.edu.
Gerene Bauldoff
30:39
A-ok! Thanks! Just wasn't sure if we should be changing the URL invitation like we have for faculty meetings, etc.

30:42
Can you use the same Zoom link in the same course from semester to semester?
Joni Tornwall
30:46
And just to clarify, the meeting *name* is set when you give the meeting a title.
Joni Tornwall
30:55
Yes, Penny.
Joni Tornwall
31:08
You can use the same link for as long as you wish.

Thank you
Gerene Bauldoff
31:52
IF you use it from semester to semester, will studetns across different semesters see all the recordings?
Joni Tornwall
32:46
They would have access to the recordings (each of which has a unique URL/link) only if they are in the Carmen course or wherever you put the URLs.
Joni Tornwall
33:25
Does that make sense? Each recording has a unique URL, and also important to note, if stored on the cloud in Zoom (which I recommend) the recording lasts only 180 days. It is then auto-deleted.
Joni Tornwall
34:56
It may also be important to note that if you use a meeting room from semester to semester, all of the “old” students may still have the URL for the meeting room and could enter whenever they wish, but you can also throw anyone out who does not belong (if you are host).
Gerene Bauldoff
35:43
Very helpful! Thanks!
Gerene Bauldoff
38:16
I know I'm a dinosaur re: carmen connect, but losing recordings after 180 days is a step down from recording in Carmen Connect, right?
Gerene Bauldoff
39:49
Can students save recordings? I would assume only I can save recordings locaally as the host?
Inga
40:43
For recording class lectures, what are the key differences between Panopto and Zoom?
Joni Tornwall
41:11
In that case, Gerene, I would record to my computer (if I needed to share a Zoom recording beyond 180 days).
thomas.3279
42:39
Yes
Inga
42:44
YES

inga, panopto is meant for lecture capture while zoom is primarily video conferencing with the ability to capture what's on your screen.
Inga
45:58
Thank you. Is the recording file size larger in Zoom compared to Panopto?
Inga
46:56
Meaning, it's easier to record a 60-minute lecture in Zoom compared to Panopto? Or are they the same?
Gerene Bauldoff
47:41
Thsi would be helpful to fill out that required attendance form required by the university.
Joni Tornwall
48:29
Yes, Gerene, I think so! I hadn’t thought of that.
Mary Alice Momeyer

What is the best basic tutorial to provide to students on "how to"?
Gerene Bauldoff
58:40
Can the sharepoint link be changed to carmen zoom?
Joni Tornwall
59:46
Usually not, Gerene. It’s complicated . . . one moment
Gerene Bauldoff
01:00:29
Aok.
Gerene Bauldoff
01:00:38
You read my mind, John!
Abby Suarez
01:05:46
OK great, thanks!
