Let's go back to talking about that!
Can you put link in chat
(You have be logged in before that will work)
zoom recorded to the cloud has close caption options
Could have youth put their names in the comments.
What do we do for kiddos that have no internet access to view the slides and participate effectively?
I found out that some schools have disabled the video function on their student's Chromebooks. So if they are using their school Chromebook they might not be able to use video even if they do have good internet.
If they have a smart phone and cell service they could access zoom that way and still see the slides
The Lt. Governor also shared resources for ways families can get access to free home wifi...
Kathy A Bruynis
Some kids are going to school parking lot to access their internet
There are also some hotspots around that they can download the content and look at it at home while on a phone call with the instructor to get the interactive portion
RE: cell phones only if they live in an area with good cell service
I can see some families being upset that they paid the fee for the online YQCA and might want refunded now that this is a possibility. What do we do with that?
I created a Powerpoint that incorporates all the Required components and includes clicker (polling) questions. I am happy to share.
I am assuming that all QA instructors can do this, correct? For example, FFA teachers and other assistant instructors.
Why not put resources in the QA box that those of us not in 4-H have access too.
Thanks! I have two chomping at the bit.
Is there a way we can share out other county dates? With a suggested limit on how many can join zoom, and if we all do a registration, not sure how this can work or not
Do we have to have our Senior Fair Boards approval to use this option?
Your document will be posted correct?
Why wouldn't online BQA or PQA count if it live workshops already count for these types of trainings with adults?
Does QA have to be completed if we do not have a show?
So for the market beef kids, do we still need to do a BQA break-out for them?
Please do not post this new option publicly ever. We saw how that went yesterday and I think it should be left to counties to share as they see fit. Thank you!
what happens when youth need special assistance
We always have two adults in our testing sessions. Can we have two adults with access to proctor the test?
I proctored a test for a college student on ZOOM yesterday. She showed me that she put her phone behind her computer where she could not see it and I watched her take her test while working on some other things on my side. It worked well.
So do they have to share their screen? Or we just have to watch them do it on their computer? Might have missed that at the beginning
Was a lockdown browser considered as an option for this?
How does it work for multiple screen sharing - wouldn't everyone see everyones screens
If they have two screens, they can still share one screen and google on the other...
And hope they don't look up answers
Glad to help!!
is there a time limit for test outs?
Do we have to offer test outs in our county or can we just offer the virtual Zoom QA classes?
Changing topics slightly: Should we be getting results/emails from YQCA. I haven't gotten one.
DANG... Will do moving forward. :)
Did I miss is this test out good forever if 15 or older?
We're all exhausted
sorry if i missed it, i had to step out to take a call - can we train our assistant instructors via zoom then?
Thank you, Liz, for getting us this option. It will help.
Yes, thank you, Lizz!!!
We appreciate it Liz and design team!
Can you limit test out just to the 15-18 year olds and not younger age level... sorry if i missed if you told us
Awesome. that would be my county:)
when can we start this? Sorry I've been getting calls while on here.
thanks so much to everyone who worked on this!! I appreciate all the extra work everyone is doing this year!
Did you say what our options were for hands on activities?
Can we talk about virtual skillathon possibilities?
Are there virtual interactive skillathon materials available that we can offer online?
I have done my skillathons on computer through google docs.
Me too- been doing skill a thons online for several years
Did I hear you say that before we offer online testing we have to complete a training on how to proctor? Or does today meet that requirement? Sorry, if you already shared this. I've been interrupted while watching.
great resource on meat science boot camp: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1cQp9mCOcwR5JZe8B2K1QyD8gQfUHU9mR
So, Junior Fair has to host them if they're on google docs...
I used qulatrics to create Skillathon stations
go.osu.edu/waynelearnlab you can check it out
thanks for the great info!
