De’Asia Thompson LISW-S/ LCSW is a proud two time graduate of The Ohio State University where she studied Sociology/ Criminology for her Bachelor of Arts and Clinical Social Work for her Master’s with a focus on Adolescent Mental Health. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker Supervisor with a decade of experience working with children, adolescents and adults. She enjoys working with people to help improve their mental wellbeing and health. De’Asia has also spent time working across the lifespan with adults and geriatrics in various settings such as University of TN Chattanooga Counseling & Personal Development Center, inpatient and assessment unit within a hospital and residential treatment in Columbus and Memphis, TN. De’Asia is currently in private practice in Dayton, OH and is the Founder and therapist at Rise Counseling Group where she and the team focus on reducing and alleviating various mental health concerns in Black women and other women of color such as anxiety, depression and other mood disorders. They treat the whole woman and not just her symptoms looking at how the unique intersection of race, gender, culture, and sexuality impact their mental health.
She’s a native of Cleveland, Ohio. She is also a wife and mom of 3 children; all in various stages of development! In addition to family life, she is also a 2nd year PhD student studying Clinical Social Work as well as an adjunct Social Work Professor. She loves reading, traveling, and spending time with family.
